Copyright Policy

1. Copyright holder. For articles published in MAVIS: Jurnal Desain Komunikasi Visual (e-ISSN 2656-9221, p-ISSN 2656-9159) from Vol. 9 No. 1 (March 2027) onward, authors retain the copyright of their articles without restriction. The copyright line on each of these articles is written as: © [Year] by the authors.

2. Rights granted to the journal. By submitting a manuscript, the authors grant MAVIS and its publisher, LPPM Universitas Bhinneka Nusantara, a non-exclusive right of first publication. The authors also allow the journal to archive the article, register its DOI and metadata with Crossref, deposit it in indexing services and digital preservation services, and distribute it in any format, provided the authors are correctly acknowledged.

3. License. Every published article is distributed open access under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). Details are given in the Licensing Policy.

4. Reuse by the authors. Authors may deposit the published version (with full citation and DOI) in institutional repositories, personal websites, or academic social networks, and may reuse the article in books, theses, or other works, as long as the first publication in MAVIS is acknowledged.

5. Third-party material. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce figures, images, designs, logos, or other material owned by third parties, and must state the source and permission in the caption.

6. Articles published before Vol. 9 No. 1 (2027). Articles published up to Vol. 8 No. 2 (2026) keep the copyright statement printed on each article ("copyright is owned by the author and MAVIS: Jurnal Desain Komunikasi Visual") and remain licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. This policy does not change the copyright status or the PDF files of those articles.

7. Website content. Content of this website other than the articles (page text, layout, and logo) is © LPPM Universitas Bhinneka Nusantara.
