Guidelines
Author Guidelines
Effective for submissions from 24 October 2026. These guidelines follow the J-Intech Template 2026 (Anonymized Manuscript and Title Page templates). Manuscripts already in review follow the guidelines in force when they were submitted.
1. General Requirements
- J-Intech accepts original research articles, systematic literature reviews, and case studies (see Type of Manuscript).
- Manuscripts must fall within the journal scope: IT Governance, IS Strategic Planning, IS Theory and Practices, Management Information Systems, IT Project Management, Distance Learning, E-Government, Information Security and IT Risk Management, E-Business/E-Commerce, Big Data Research, and other related topics (see Focus and Scope).
- The journal is published four times a year, in March, June, September, and December (see publication schedule).
- Manuscripts and abstracts are written in English only, are original, and have not been published or submitted elsewhere.
- Submissions are made only through OJS, with a similarity index of at most 20% excluding quotations and references (see Plagiarism Check).
2. Templates and Files to Upload
Two templates are provided: the Anonymized Manuscript template (J-Intech Template 2026: Letter-size paper, 1-inch margins, Cambria font, single column) and the Title Page Template. Each submission consists of three files, uploaded under their own components in OJS:

3. Title, Authors, and Affiliations
- Title: specific and informative, reflecting the main finding, no more than 20 words (Cambria 14, justified). Avoid stating the research location unless it is essential to the contribution.
- Authors: full names without academic degrees or titles. Superscript numbers denote affiliation only, not author order. Mark the corresponding author with an asterisk (*).
- Affiliations: institution, faculty/department, city, and country written in full, without abbreviations.
- The author list and order at first submission are final and must be identical on the Title Page and in OJS. Any addition, removal, or reordering after review has begun leads to rejection (see Authorship Criteria).
- Article history and DOI: the submitted date is the date the manuscript was first submitted in OJS; the revised, accepted, and published dates, the DOI, the Open Access statement, and the How to cite line are completed by the editor.
4. Abstract and Keywords
- Abstract: one paragraph of 200 to 300 words containing, in this order, a brief background (if relevant), the research objective, a concise description of the method, the key findings, and a brief conclusion. No citations, tables, or figures.
- Keywords: 3 to 5 keywords, listed alphabetically or in order of importance.
5. Article Structure
- Introduction: background, the problem, and the objective, about 10 to 15% of the manuscript. It must explicitly contain (a) an adequate state of the art built on recent and relevant literature, (b) the research gap and the novelty of the study relative to prior work, and (c) a clearly stated research objective.
- Research Method: the research flow, tools, materials, data collection, and validity, in enough detail to be replicated. Case studies must include an evaluation, not only the development of an application; systematic literature reviews must state the protocol (for example, PRISMA), databases, search strings, and inclusion and exclusion criteria. State the Ethical Clearance number for research with human or animal subjects, and the availability of the data.
- Result and Discussions: address (1) the appropriateness of the method, (2) a precise description of the findings, (3) depth of interpretation, and (4) a critical comparison with recent studies, preferably in a comparison table with quantitative results.
- Conclusions and Future Works: a narrative paragraph (not points) that answers the research objective, states the novelty (for example, a new model, method, or prototype), and suggests future work, without citations and without repeating the discussion.

6. Declarations (5.1 to 5.7 in the template)
All statements are mandatory. Choose the statement that applies and delete the others.

7. Figures, Tables, Equations, and Algorithms
- Place each figure, table, equation, and algorithm in the section where it is first discussed, number it consecutively, refer to it in the text, and explain it.
- Table captions above the table and centered; figure captions below the figure. State the source of secondary figures.
- Figures must be at least 300 dpi and clearly legible. A figure generated or modified with generative AI must say so in the caption, for example "Figure 2. Illustration generated using [AI tool]."
- Equations are numbered in parentheses flush with the right margin, for example (1). Algorithms or pseudocode are presented as numbered blocks (Algorithm 1, Algorithm 2) and cited if adopted from another source.
- Use no more than three heading levels.
8. References
- At least 25 references; at least 80% primary sources (journal articles, conference proceedings, books or patents reporting original research) and at least 80% published within the last 10 years.
- IEEE style with numbered citations in square brackets, for example [1]. Every in-text citation must match the reference list; include the DOI where available.
- Chained (secondary) citations are not permitted; cite the original source directly.
- A reference manager such as Mendeley or Zotero is strongly recommended.
9. Submission Checklist
- Three files prepared, two of them from the templates: Anonymized Manuscript, Title Page and Declarations, and Similarity Report (maximum 20%).
- Author list identical on the Title Page and in OJS.
- Title of no more than 20 words; abstract of 200 to 300 words; 3 to 5 keywords.
- Introduction states the state of the art, the gap and novelty, and the objective.
- Discussion compares the findings with recent studies; conclusion answers the objective.
- Declarations 5.1, 5.3, 5.5, and 5.7 completed in the manuscript; 5.2, 5.4, and 5.6 in the Title Page.
- At least 25 references (80% primary, 80% from the last 10 years) in IEEE style.
- Figures at least 300 dpi, placed in the relevant sections.
